UKPRP – Webinar series design and delivery

Cynergy were recently commissioned to support the Health Foundation and their partners as part of the UK Prevention Research Partnership (UKPRP). The UKPRP is a £50 million multi-funder initiative that supports novel research into primary prevention of non-communicable diseases to improve population health and reduce health inequalities.

The project

In its first round of funding, the UKPRP awarded £25 million to eight projects, bringing together leading researchers as well as local and national policy makers, charities, non-government organisations (NGOs) and the public. The awards cover a wide variety of issues, including investigating the approaches used by commercial producers of tobacco, alcohol and food to promote products; school food systems and their effects on the quality of children’s diets; and embedding health considerations in urban planning and decision-making processes.

With the consortia and networks now all well-established, the Health Foundation and UKPRP commissioned Cynergy to design, organise and deliver four webinars that would share some of the emerging findings from the work of the consortia and bring in key voices within the relevant industry sectors to add a further level of context around policy implications and challenges.

Cynergy managed the project throughout, ensuring all involved were kept up to date on progress of actions; designed the virtual delivery format; sourced and liaised with the webinar chairs and speakers; set up and managed the booking platform and registrations; and made sure the webinars were accessible, delivered seamlessly, and recorded and edited for the on-demand content.

Results

Across all four webinars:

UKPRP Event 2: Systems science in public health: turning thought into action

Summary

With the support of Cynergy, the Health Foundation and UKPRP delivered four high-quality, seamless and engaging webinars to a diverse audience across sectors such as health care, local authority and academia, all of which had a great turnout. Following their success, we hope to work with UKPRP again soon, to share more of the incredible work their award holders are doing in prevention research.
