Skills Academy for Health North West - Cadet Annual Awards Ceremony

What they wanted:
Skills Academy for Health North West wanted an event that would celebrate the graduation of their 404 Healthcare, Dental and Health Informatic cadets that would be interspersed with speakers to engage the audience. Musical performances were included to add energy to the atmosphere with a number of video’s and cadet story’s for inspiration. The client wanted an engaging event with a comprehensive programme to fit the 3 hour ceremony, in an impressive venue that the graduating cadets and participating partners would remember for a long time. This was the 3rd annual event that the Skills Academy for Health have worked on with the Cynergy team, merging together the North West cadets for their biggest graduation to date.

What we did:
We combined the annual conference with the annual awards in light of the budget constraints whilst still showing evidence of ROI. We introduced a ‘Question Time’ Q&A session, hosted by celebrity John Humphrys, a new concept of informal learning encapsulating exhibition/sponsorship opportunities, and a Speakers Corner with a diverse range of ‘soapbox’ speakers.

Our in-house creative team created an event brand, produced a number of event resources from a 12 page programme to evaluation forms (and everything in between!). The strategic team devised a programme drawing out the key themes, whilst the operations team made sure it could be delivered effectively on the day. The events team offered a full event management service including award staging, exhibition/sponsorship management and innovative CD ROM badges. The technical team designed a bespoke stage and set and live video streaming.

What they said:
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you to yourself and the Cynergy team for a great event that went (as always with Cynergy) like clockwork. The Cadets had a great afternoon and we have already received e mails from partners saving what a professional and special afternoon it was. Will you please pass on my thanks to the whole team and thank you for looking after me so well; presenting is so much easier when you know you have someone quiet literally watching your back and making sure everything is in place”

NHS North West Leadership Academy Awards

What they wanted:
NHS North West Leadership Academy host an annual Awards event to recognise the achievements of individuals and organisations who are leading the way in delivering quality healthcare throughout the North West. In its third year, it was important that this event was as successful and eventful as the proceeding two despite the budget pressures they were faced with. Our client wanted to create a platform for delegates to network, share best practise and hear ideas for overcoming challenges facing the uncertain future of the NHS. We combined their conference and awards into one full day event with morning session updating delegates and current and emerging leaders on innovative research and the later part of the day to celebrate success and best practise.

What we did:
We opted to combine the annual conference and awards this year which eased the budget constraints whilst still showing evidence of ROI. The event was planned during the height of the new government changes and therefore we remained sensitive to the political circumstances surrounding our audience. We introduced a ‘Question Time’ Q&A session hosted by celebrity John Humphrys who addressed the challenging questions to a panel of NHS leaders and devised a new concept of informal learning which encapsulated exhibition/sponsorship opportunities, a Speakers Corner for delegates to watch and share ideas for overcoming challenges facing the future NHS.

Vital Stats:

  • Venue: The Palace Hotel, Manchester

  • Event: Annual Conference & Awards 2010

  • Audience: 300

  • Number of Awards presented: 10

  • Number of Exhibition Stands: 10

  • Number of Speaker / Presenters: 23

  • Cynergy Events team: 12

“We would like to thank you and your team for your support and commitment to our recent event.

Your advice and involvement enabled us to host a highly successful event and show case the Academy’s ability to deliver world class leadership for better health and wellbeing.

The small details make the biggest difference and we were able to relax and enjoy the conference as delegates knowing the event was in safe hands.

It has been a pleasure to work with you and the contribution you have made was invaluable in ensuring the high profile of the day and the NHS North West Leadership Academy”

NHS North West - Better Care Through Better Education

The Mersey Deanery had experienced significant restructure prior to this event, so they needed to increase understanding of the Deanery’s vision, and how this fits into the wider SHA. We formulated an interactive programme which brought their ideas to life and encouraged exploration of what’s working currently, and what could be done differently. The feedback from the event was extremely positive, calling the day enjoyable, educational and fun. With the focus on customers, tutors, trusts, patients and themselves, staff told us they gained a lot from it and thought that everyone else felt the same.

National Leadership Council - Emerging Leaders

This event brought together NHS leaders and stakeholders from across the country to confirm and commit to our plans to develop world class leaders in the NHS. They were given the platform to discuss, debate and recognised that there is a call for flexible, accountable and progressive people and networks to strengthen the existing talent and bring new leaders into the NHS at all levels. It resulted in agreement to the workstreams and delivery structure for Emerging Leaders, and also gave NHS leaders and stakeholders the opportunity to network and influences the Emerging Leaders agenda.
